I am a graduate of the Institute of Clinical Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi, where I earned my Master’s Degree in Oriental Medicine. My studies also included training under Taoist Master and 64th-generation lineage holder Dr. Lillian Chang Y. Hsiang of the World Medicine Institute, where I learned healing modalities such as Qi Gong and the integration of local Hawaiian herbs with traditional Chinese medicine.
The Taoist teachings of humility, balance, and self-preservation have deeply influenced both my personal life and my approach to patient care. I strive to bring these principles into every treatment, helping patients discover practical ways to support their own healing journey and unlock their body’s natural capacity for wellness.
I have had the privilege of studying and working alongside respected practitioners including Joe Bright, founder of Kamaʻāina Community Acupuncture in Kaimukī, Hawaiʻi, and Tai Hawkins of Olanani Acuoasis in Kailua. Through these experiences, I developed a broad clinical background treating chronic pain, autoimmune disorders, paralysis, infertility, and a variety of women’s health concerns. My practice also includes facial rejuvenation and cosmetic acupuncture, and I occasionally incorporate Chinese astrological insights to provide a more individualized approach to care.
In addition to my work as an acupuncturist, I practice and teach Hatha Yoga and continue my studies with Mark Whitwell, founder of the Heart of Yoga approach. His breath-centered teachings emphasize that yoga should be accessible to every body, regardless of age or ability. One of my favorite quotes from Mark is, “The secrets of the universe are in you, as you.”
Before pursuing Oriental Medicine, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts and English from St. Lawrence University. Creativity remains an important part of my life, and I enjoy singing, playing guitar, writing poetry, and painting. I believe that healing and creativity are deeply connected, and I am continually inspired by the ways both can help us reconnect with our authentic selves.
